My inspiration to create this coaching tool came from one of my all-time favorite books: How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci by Michael J. Gelb. Gelb identifies “confusion endurance” as a key skill to master if you want to be a more innovative thinker. (Check out the book for his own thoughts on this intriguing skill!)
I started asking myself: how can I train for confusion endurance? And how can I go beyond confusion to new and better thinking? I took further inspiration from techniques that I found did (and did NOT) work well from my favorite philosophy seminars. And with some further experimentation and work with clients, this new tool was born.
